I am feeling a little disorientated at the moment. My summer holidays are all over now so in my head summer is too. At work we are looking at Christmas stuff so naturally I can feel I am starting to think towards Autumn. It’s funny because I have friends who are going on their summer holiday in September so they’re still bikini hunting and stocking up on sun cream (not jealous at all….) I’m really trying to not let go of summer too fast though as it is such a good time of year. Also in reality, there are still a few good weeks of the season left that I don’t want to let run amiss!
One of the best things about summer is the food and drinks on offer. Pimms, cocktails, ice cream, strawberries, BBQs… I love it all. As a self confessed chocoholic, I was very happy to recently discover these ‘Cocktails-to-Chill’ chocolates from Hotel Chocolat. These chocolates are based on 4 amazing cocktail recipes and are the perfect summer chocolates. You are instructed to leave them in the fridge for 30 mins before eating and then when you taste them you get an ‘instant hit of refreshment’. I love that Hotel Chocolat have come up with some summery and refreshing chocolates because at this time of year there is often a sad lack of chocolate.
The four flavours are Passionfruit Margarita, Moscow Mule, Mojito Cocktail and Grapefruit Gin & Tonic. I think my fave is probably the Grapefruit Gin & Tonic as it is sweet and sharp all at the same time and the gin-tonic taste goes so nicely with the chocolate.
There are plenty more amazing summery chocolates too including ‘smoothies to chill’ which follow a similar concept to these cocktail ones. There are summer dessert chocolates too and as always with Hotel Chocolat, all of the products look so beautiful amd colourful. They are perfect for al fresco dining and would be a great present to take along to a BBQ if you have any more lined up this year.
